HELPING CULTURAL ARTISTS GROW, THRIVE, AND CONNECT

BISEMI FOUNDATION

Bisemi Cultural Artist Highlights

All of the artists that Bisemi serves are incredibly unique and are invaluable forces of change within their communities. We feel that by featuring and documenting our artists and their work we can help advance African and African diaspora values throughout the communities we serve. We believe that by providing a little extra help to our community members, their cultural practices and traditions will flourish.

With funding for the arts starting to fade, we created Bisemi to provide support for those wanting to advance their culture through art. Music, dance and art are pivotal to building healthy communities and lives, and it is our ultimate goal to create and foster a community of artists and arts administrators championing and advancing this effort. We pride ourselves on the fact that we are not only able to provide various networking and training programs for all of the artists that we support, but also in the fact that they stay in contact with us and give back to other artists.

If you have any questions about our artists, would like to donate, or would like to partner with us, contact us today. One of our friendly and devoted staff members is happy to answer them.

Publically honoring an Icon is a form of self-expression that challenges and pushes me to expand and explore the infinite possibilities of my own creativity while paying homage to their legacy. My Tribute to Alice McLeod Coltrane, Swamini Turiyasangitananda, demands that I continue deepening my relationship with the spirit of my craft beyond mere performance into a full-on embodiment of the soul of the sound of her sonic message thereby giving birth to the next evolution of MySelf. The work is transformative.
